Spiritual Ecology Retreat 2024: Resourcing Ourselves in Times of Transition

From 26th June - 30th of June 2024 we'll host our annual Spiritual Ecology retreat at Samye Ling Meditation Centre in Beaumont, Belgium. This retreat will focus on 'Resourcing Ourselves in Times of Transition'.

"We are being called to reorient ourselves, and our ways of being, to a changed and changing Earth. Within this shifting space lies the possibility of radical renewal: an opportunity to step into deeper, wiser relations with the Earth" Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee, Emergence Magazine

At this retreat we will explore how developing kinship with ourselves, each other and all forms of life has the potential to transform the root causes of the polycrises. We welcome you to join us on this 5-day immersive learning journey, on the land of a beautiful Buddhist retreat centre, near Charleroi in Belgium.

If we can listen more deeply - within, to each other and the more than human world - this can transform our ability to be present and respond to all we witness in today’s world. Together at this retreat we will take time to slow down and embrace space for silence, joy and rest as radical practices. Through creating space to be more centred and grounded we can nurture the inner resources we need to face the challenges of being alive at this time.

At this retreat we will:

  • Take time out for silence, walks outside in nature, and periods of deep reflection.
  • Connect with others in community; making space for collective radical inquiry, deep listening and mutual support.
  • Co-create spaces for regeneration, reciprocity and reverence with the Earth.

This retreat is for you if:

  • You yearn for time out to deeply connect with yourself and nature.
  • You’d like to learn (more) about inner practices, social action and the connections between.
  • You enjoy discovering new ways to connect and share with like-minded people.

This retreat will be with:

  • Facilitators: Annick Nevejan and Flo Scialom of Spiritual Ecology Netherlands (see details in About Us)
  • Guest teachers: Lama Rinchen (Abbot of Samye Ling) and Gregory Henry (Permaculture Garden at the retreat Centre)

This retreat will draw on practices from:

The Work that Reconnects from Joanna Macy alongside various Buddhist traditions, integrating science, systems thinking and nature connection. However you do not need to have any previous experience, beliefs or practices to come. All are welcome; we’d love for you to join us!
