The simple essence of a spiritual ecology worldview is that everything is sacred and interconnected

Welcome to the website of Spiritual Ecology Netherlands, a new project offering events, courses and retreats on the relationship between inner work and outer change.

Welcome, a little bit about us
We know we are living through times of uncertainty and transition, that call on us to 'see with new eyes'.

As teacher Joanna Macy points out, “the sorrow, grief, and rage you feel is a measure of your humanity… as your heart breaks open there will be room for the world to heal.” We live in a beautiful world that is also facing many challenges. We need inner tools to support us in order to engage with the beauty and challenges of our times.

Inner practices - such as those based on mindfulness and compassion - can support us to deeply experience the truth of interconnectedness, to manage challenging emotions and to be more present as our full selves in the world. These practices can also serve to inspire us to take action to protect this sacred world of which we are all a part.

Spiritual Ecology Netherlands is made up of a passionate group of people with many years of experience. The core team includes Maaike Boumans, Annick Nevejan and Flo Scialom. We are also happy to announce we have established the Spiritual Ecology Foundation (fall 2024), which makes it possible for us to apply for funds and receive donations to make our trainings and retreats possible for students and those with limited financial resources.

We would love to welcome you to join our events and to stay in touch by signing up to our mailing list below.

Finding Abundance in All Seasons
The seasons invites us to realize that abundance can be found and felt at all times of the year in different ways. During this spring practice day we will explore how to feel ourselves part of spring's larger intelligence while also doing the interior work of awakening to our innate potential for a just world where all life can thrive
Spiritual Ecology Practice Sessions online – 2025/2026
With these practice sessions we’re co-creating a human space for resonant connection; to orient ourselves towards reciprocity and mutual thriving, to internalize the reality of our interdependence and to discover and strengthen our alignment with our purpose in life. So we can learn to live this in our daily lives step by step. And act on behalf of the well-being for all we share this planet with.

We welcome you to join us on this full 5-days immersive learning journey, if you yearn for time out to deeply connect with yourself, with each other and nature.

Core-training Spiritual Ecology – spring 2026
By exploring our experiences inside and in relating to the human and more-than-human world we invite different ways of knowing to access the wisdom in the group. We want to create a space where we can relax, where we can embrace our humanness (being a 'compassionate mess') and support one another in our membership of the group and the larger community of life, finding our own unique part to play in contributing to a better world.

Community of practice

Spiritual Ecology Practice Sessions online

With these practice sessions we're co-creating a human space for resonant connection; to orient ourselves towards reciprocity and mutual thriving, to internalize the reality of our interdependence and to discover and strengthen our alignment with our purpose in life.
How? By offering meditation, mindful inquiry and sacred heart circle sharings that enables us to explore, heal and reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the web of life. We explore questions that are meaningful to us in pairs (in break-out rooms) and the group-as-a-whole.

This online group is open to everyone who wants to be part of our community of practice in Spiritual Ecology. Preferably you have followed a Spiritual Ecology training, workshop or retreat with us the last few years. If you do not know if you meet this requirement or if it is something for you, please do get in touch with us
